Dan Aston Music

Lemonade Sea lyric video

Featured on BBC Radio 6 Music and BBC Radio Cornwall, my latest single ‘Lemonade Sea’ has now got a new lyric video!

The song is about reflecting on past times and is named after the shimmering effect the sun gives against the ocean. Featuring Sue Aston on violin and members from jazz band Endangered Species, the song is brought to life by some beautiful instrumental playing.

I hope you enjoy it!

Watch 2nd Aston Family Show

I had an amazing time performing as part of The Aston Family Show on Sunday. The show was cross-produced in the US and Cornwall and had a great panel of special guests.
I’m still finding it strange to come to terms with the overwhelming reception these shows have received so far, and how many people have connected to my family’s music around the world simply from us performing at the end of our living room!
You can check out the recording of the show below which features a couple of my own songs, ‘Way Home’ and ‘Pale Jacket’, along with a great set of other original Aston material.

For You My Friend – Live at Looe Music Festival

Check out the live version of my original song ‘For You My Friend’, taken from my performance at Looe Music Festival last month!

The lyrics deal with the subject of friendship and the importance of those close to you in dark times. It’s also the first song where I experimented with fingerpicking techniques, jazz chords and harmonics.

It was my first time being on the panel and performing on a US Google+ show and I really enjoyed it! There was some chat about spicy wine and alligator nuggets, does anyone know where I could get some of that?
