Here are some lyrics from a song I’ve been working on called ‘Map The Stars’.
Some of you may recognise it as I performed a rough version at a couple of gigs earlier this year.
It’s essentially about the struggle to keep childhood dreams alive and the sacrifices that can come with that. This is a snippet:
Friends turn to strangers
when you’re up in the clouds,
wires get crossed and you wind up alone.
But I’ve got an ember alive in the cold,
fuelling my spirit while the rain’s falling down.
Lines on my hand chart my mistakes,
face in the mirror that never wakes
from a dream that’s lucid and true;
I won’t give up until the game is through.
Will you stay a while
and help me to map the stars?
Will you take the time
to see if this moment is ours?
